Event Details

Good design can add value to product and service innovation and, ultimately, help lead to the successful commercialization of those products and services. This seminar, presented by the Design Industry Advisory Committee (DIAC), covers the critical steps entrepreneurs must take to connect business strategy and design.

Start to integrate design into every stage of product development and adopt the design best practices of other innovation focused companies.

Glenda Rissman
Principal, q30 design inc. 
Glenda Rissman is co-founder and principal of q30 Design Inc., a Toronto-based graphic design and communications consulting firm. Glenda's strategic design vision has been at the heart of many successful communications projects for a wide variety of q30's clients , including: Osler Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, Ontario Hospital Association and the Rotman School of Management.
 
Tim Poupore
Chair, Design Industry Advisory Committee
President, Ove Industrial Design

For more than three decades, Tim has operated at the forefront of user-centered design and has been instrumental in the commercialization of hundreds of products.
 
Arlene Gould
Strategic Director, Design Industry Advisory Committee
Adjunct Professor, Department of Design, York University

Arlene Gould is a design management consultant, researcher and educator who has connected business leaders to strategic design for over twenty years. She is the Strategic Director of the Design Industry Advisory Committee (DIAC), a not-for-profit think tank and cross-disciplinary design research group established by the City of Toronto.
